The National Home Improvement Show experiences a 25 per cent growth in exhibitor numbers

Tuesday, August 03, 2010
Following the success of The National Home Improvement Show’s launch at Earls Court in October last year, organisers are predicting an even bigger event on 1-3 October 2010 with 25 per cent more exhibitors, 37 per cent more floor space and the attendance of visitors with a predicted renovation budget of more than £150,0000.

The show, in its first year, attracted 240 specialist exhibitors and drew a phenomenal crowd of over 13,000 people over the three days.

Richard Milbourn, event director for The National Home Improvement Show, attributes the show’s success to its ability to deliver an exhibition focused purely on home ‘improvers’ and understanding that home owners are searching for new ways to add space and value to their property.

Mr Milbourn continues: “Launching a new show in the economic conditions we experienced in 2009 was a bold move and the high visitor numbers and the rebooking of 86 per cent of last years exhibitors indicated strong evidence of success.”

“The combination of specialist exhibitors and the opportunity to access the best in home improvement, design and space saving advice from celebrity experts proved to be an attractive mix for visitors.”

This year’s celebrity expert line-up includes Michael Holmes (Real Homes editor-in-chief and I Own Britain’s Best Home), Julia Kendall (DIY SOS) and Matt James (City Gardner) who all have returned to appear at this year’s show. Show newcomer, architectural designer Charlie Luxton (Build a New Life in the Country) has now been included in the expert schedule.

The National Home Improvement Show will be held at London's Earls Court from the 1-3 October 2010.
